| Summary: | The exploratory-descriptive and documentary study, with a quantitative approach, investigates the execution of the Fund for the Maintenance and Development of Basic Education and the Valorization of Education Professionals (Fundeb), in the period 2009-2019, in the context of five municipalities (Camaçari, Dias D’Ávila, Lauro de Freitas, Mata de São João and Simões Filho) from the Metropolitan Region of Salvador (RMS). The results obtained indicated that Fundeb made it possible to increase the volume of resources in the municipal education systems, however, aspects related to the pent-up demand in early childhood education, unavailability of resources for maintenance and development of education (MDE) and the decrease in enrollments in education. youth and adults (EJA) are challenges to be overcome. |
