Sumario:Acute metabolic pancreatitis due to hypertriglyceridemia is an exceptional entity. The risk of developing it is linked to triglyceride levels greater than 500 mg / dl; no direct correlation between the level of these with severity or complications. The clinical case of a patient with recurrent hypertriglyceridemic acute pancreatitis is analyzed; thetherapeutic complexity of its management and the high mortality risk of this type of pancreatitis.
