Sumario:The authors present a rare case of synchronicand independent lesiona! association of medularcarcinoma of the thyroid with nade methastasisand Hürthle ce// carcinoma of the contralateralthyroid /obe. There is a lack of similar referencesin the reviewed literature. The authors describein detail diagnostic and therapeu- tical stepsfollowed with this patient. Bibliography revisionmade possible an update of diagnostic,therapeutical and prognostic aspects of bothtypes of thyroid cancer. The patient is diseasefree and in good condition ten months aftersurgery, with a strict follow-up.
