| Sumario: | The objective of this paper is to demonstrate the design of a two-level boost converter and its controller. First, the context of the importance of such a converter is stablished. Then, the operation of an ideal converter is studied to determine some fundamental relationships necessary for design. Also, the non-idealities of the converter are introduced and a set of equations are developed which are later used to design a converter for a hybrid vehicle application. Finally, various control strategies are studied for the designed converter and implemented in MATLAB/Simulink. |
