The analysis of the data was carried out by descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: it was included 196 patients, 128 women and 68 men; it was observed in 70.4% of the group glycemic control and there was lack of control 29.6%; in addition to a favorable lifestyle in 23.5%, less favorable in 67.9% and unfavorable in 8.7%. The result of the Pearson correlation was -0.196 (p<0.05). Conclusion: according to the results, the correlation between lifestyle and glycemic control is weak.Objetivo: determinar la relación entre el estilo de vida y el control glucémico en pacientes con Diabetes Mellitus en una unidad del primer nivel de atención del estado de Sonora, México. Métodos: estudio observacional, prospectivo, transversal, descriptivo y abierto; en el que se aplicó el test imevid para evaluar el estilo de vida, y prueba de control glucémico con hemoglobina glucosilada en pacientes portadores de Diabetes Mellitus, con al menos un año de diagnóstico, de quienes se obtuvo previamente su consentimiento informado. El análisis de los datos se llevó a cabo mediante estadística descriptiva e inferencial. Resultados: se incluyeron 196 pacientes, 128 mujeres y 68 hombres; se observó control glucémico en 70.4% de la población y descontrol en 29.6%; además de un estilo de vida favorable en 23.5%, poco favorable en 67.9% y desfavorable en 8.7%. El resultado de la correlación de Pearson, fue de -0.196 (p<0.05).
