The first kind represents actual sounds; t he second is used to describe; symbolically; feelings; states; situations or even actions.This article analizes some of the phonological; sintactic and semantic characteristics of Japanese onomatopeia.En japonés existen dos tipos de palabras onomatopéyicas. Las llamadas giongo y giseigo y las onomatopeyas gitaigo. Las primeras representan sonidos reales; las segundas se usan para describir de manera simbóilca sensaciones estados; situaciones o acciones. En este trabajo se analizan algunas de las características fonológicas; sintácticas y semánticas de las onomatopeyas japonesas.En japonais il existe deux types de mots- onomatopées: les giongo ou giseigo et les gitaigo.
