Descripción
Sumario:International migration is one of the most visible social phenomena in recent decades, the mass media contribute to it, while the means of transportation facilitate mobility by diluting distances. The change of place of residence is caused by economic aspects, natural disasters, wars, among others. The present study is framed in this context and addresses South Korean migration to Nuevo León in a particular way. From a quantitative methodological perspective, an estimate of the natives of South Korea residing in Nevo León during the period 2008-2018 is made by, using the records of the National Institute of Migration. The result allows us to compare the data with the imaginary created in the local media about the South Korean migrants who arrived after the arrival of the company KIA Motors.
