Descripción
Sumario:In the world, labor inequality between men and women tends to narrow in the last quarter of century, and in Latin American countries, of course; however, the advances to shorten this gap are losing speed. The International Labor Organization (ILO, 2016) estimates that, if this rhythm is followed, it will take seventy years to fill the gender pay gap; gap that constitutes one of the most obvious dimensions of inequality. This article looks at the prevailing situation in academic work, relative only to public Mexican universities; the analysis is placed within the framework of a productivism that imprints an unprecedented stamp on the organization of scientific and educational work. The purpose is to show that this operative logic finds in the information and communication technologies (ICT) a key resource to shore up the individual competencies, as well as to visualize the academic results. It is concluded that, in its variety, versatility and potential, the appropriation of these resources is the opportunity to contribute in the reduction of other labor differences between genders in this professional field.
