The background of the application is studied, it explains what the cavalry masters have been in the Spanish monarchy and the process is followed until its conclusion, with the royal refusal to accede to it.En este trabajo se presenta y analiza en su contexto histórico la pretensión de establecer una maestranza de caballería que con fecha 3 de febrero de 1790 presentó al rey Carlos IV el autollamado <<cuerpo de hijosdalgo americanos y europeos>> de la ciudad de México, con el apoyo del virrey Revillagigedo. Se estudian los antecedentes de la solicitud, se explica lo que han sido en la monarquía española las maestranzas de caballería y se sigue el proceso hasta su conclusión, con la negativa regia para acceder a ella.
