Sumario:Dental caries is a progressive disease that, if not treated properly, produces pulp necrosis and loss of vitality of the tooth. It affects every individual being a major health problem worldwide. To determine the prevalence of dental caries in school children from 6 to 12 years of age from the Gustavo Díaz Ordaz de Catmis, Tzucacab primary school and the Benito Juárez García de Peto primary school, Yucatán. Method. The type of study that was carried out is observational, descriptive and transversal. This research was carried out in 455 schoolchildren of the two primary schools studied in the State of Yucatan and whose ages range between 6 and 12 years.
