For the above it was significant to cite different concepts about this cohort and define its particularities. The characteristics published, chronologically, by three popular authors were listed and interrelated with the skills of self-knowledge, self-control, motivation, empathy and social skills that are linked to emotional intelligence. Although it was concluded that millennials are mostly skilled at controlling their feelings, it was recommended that labor and educational institutions be actively involved in filling the gaps, in the attributes of empathy and self-regulation, of this generation to obtain the greatest benefits for society.La inteligencia emocional de la generación millennial fue descrita a partir de las cinco competencias que circunscribe la misma definición, según Daniel Goleman. Para lo anterior fue significativo citar diferentes conceptos sobre esta cohorte y delimitar sus particularidades. Se enumeran las características que publicaron, cronológicamente, tres populares autores y se interrelacionaron con las aptitudes de autoconocimiento, autocontrol, motivación, empatía y habilidades sociales que se vinculan a la inteligencia emocional.
