The manner in which the composiciones were performed on Indian lands of Huayacocotla-Chicontepec and Yahualica, two colonial jurisdictions Huasteca are exposed. On the one hand, the intention of the article is to emphasize the importance it once had the measurement of six hundred varas per wind, surface was considered central part of the community lands of the towns. And secondly, show the responses of the repúblicas de naturales of this region to the taxation policy of the Spanish monarchy.En este texto se aborda el conjunto de leyes que insertaron a los bienes de comunidad y los patrimonios de los naturales de la Nueva España en el régimen fiscal de la Corona, mediante las diligencias de composiciones de tierras y aguas realizadas entre 1692 y 1720. Se expondrá la manera en que se efectuaron las composiciones en las tierras de los indios de las alcaldías mayores de Huayacocotla-Chicontepec y Yahualica, dos jurisdicciones coloniales de la Huasteca. Por un lado, la intención del artículo es recalcar la importancia que llegó a tener la mensura de las seiscientas varas por cada viento, superficie que se consideró parte central de los bienes de comunidad de los pueblos.
