We account for the human features that manifests its sacred and profane character in the way of inhabiting the world, we investigate its disposition of habits and beliefs in the revelations that it offers and in the certainties that it promotes in the face of the primary fears of the world. We analyse the rational and irrational dimensions present in the myth for their call to the entirety, their communication Through the vehicle of narration, different causways thar nusture it, keys to allow to cme closer to thei understanding and functounality, factors of corruption, that is to say, motivations that look to adapt and implant it with the purpose of dominance. All these considerations referred to the particular "Lacandon" environment.En esta investigación discutimos la importancia del mito, desde una perspectiva social, como elemento de apoyo para "desenvolverse" en la vida; el impacto que provoca su pérddda sobre la comprensión de la realidad; su forma y los actores desde los que se observa. Atendemos los rasgos humanosque manifiesta su carácter sagrado y profano en en el modo de habitar el mundo, indagamos su disposición de hábitos y creencias en las revelaciones que ofrece y en las certezas que promueve ante los miedos primarios del mundo. Analizamos las dimensiones racional e irracional presentes en el mito por su llamado a la totalidad, su comunicación a través del vehículo de la narración, distintas vertientes que lo nutren, claves que permiten acercarse a su comprensión y funcionalidad, factores de corrupción, es decir motivaciones que buscan adecuarlo e implantarlo con afanes de dominio.
