The possibility of knowing and getting to know each other through publications implies an important event for the university community: it means measuring their scope and limitations, while assessing the relationship with the environment, that is, to what extent and how much the University is present in society. This text aims to make a balance and a critical presentation of the publications of the University to this day, a necessary balance because the University starts an experiment: the edition of Caleidoscopio, a publication that intends to synthesize previous editorial efforts and become a referent of controversy and university presence.La proliferación de revistas académicas es uno de los rasgos más notables del crecimiento y la modernización de la educación superior. La posibilidad de conocer y conocerse a través de las publicaciones, implica para la comunidad universitaria un acontecimiento importante: significa medir sus alcances y limitaciones, a la vez que permite valorar la relaci6n con el entorno, es decir, hasta dónde y cuánto la Universidad esta presente en la sociedad.
