First, he briefly presents the main lines of Schutz’s theoretical project; second, Schutz’s Husserlian account for “typification” as a passive kind of interpretation is examined, as well as his Husserl-based analysis of the structure and genesis of the “stock of knowledge at hand”. Rather than being a mere contribution to the history of sociological ideas, this review should be read as an intent to enrich the theoretical foundation of current research in the field of social sciences.A fin de paliar el estado deficitario de la literatura secundaria en español sobre Alfred Schutz, este artículo se propone reconstruir sistemáticamente su concepción sobre la tipicalidad y habitualidad de la experiencia cognitiva cotidiana. Para esto se procede en tres pasos. Primero, se presentan los lineamientos fundamentales del proyecto teórico de Schutz; en segundo término, se escruta su concepción husserliana de la “tipificación” como un proceso de interpretación pasiva y, finalmente, se examina su análisis de la estructura y génesis del “acervo de conocimiento a mano”.
