| Sumario: | This article deals with the figure of the Commissioners of the Inquisition in Aguascalientes; its purpose of is to investigate the profile, functions and duties of the Commissioners in a strict sense and to analyze the officials who held such positions in Aguascalientes during the eighteenth century in the broad sense. The methodology was based on the search of documentary information about the Commissioners of the Inquisition and the consultation of archives, where the prosopography was mainly used for the analysis of each one of the Commissioners. One of the main findings of the present investigation was the revelation of the inhabitants of Aguascalientes that served as commissioners and their main material and intellectual works, some of which transcend till the present times |
