Sumario:According to accepted agricultural practice, residue levels of lindane (T-HCH), other HCHisomers and HCB were determined in carrots and sugar beets grown under field conditions, where lindane had been applied to the soil as a sanitation agent Samples of leaves and rootsshowed lindane and a-HCH residues. Significant concentrations were observed in he carrot, especially in the peelings of the roots. High levels of lindane and a-HCH residues were alsoobserved in he seeds developed in growing plants, as well as PHCH and GHCH, which werenot detected in growing plants, indicating specific accumulation of HCHs in the seeds.
