Descripción
Sumario:Glauco and Giulano Gresleri have developed a long and fruitful architectural career: The first brother devoted most of his efforts to professional practice, while the second one followed an academic vocation. Nevertheless they have worked together since the period between 1956-1968 when they dedicated themselves intensely to the study and advancement of religious architecture. At the request of Cardinal Giacomo Lercaro, they promoted various initiatives and, in their early twenties, undertook the construction of several dozen churches in the out-skirts of Bologna, an experience which was a key lesson for their understanding of contemporary religious architecture. This led to the proposal of three churches in Bologna in the late sixties, each of them designed by a well known architect. Various historical events resulted in the construction of only one of these churches, in Riola di Vergato, a small mountain village near the city. On April 24th, 2009, both architects granted me the following interview to talk about this church.
