| Sumario: | The problems caused by the mismanagement of municipal solid waste could generate economic and environmental conflicts in the so-called Riviera Nayarit, made up of the municipalities of San Blas, Compostela and Bahía de Banderas. Therefore, it is not enough to identify and solve the problems in a partial way, since the economy of the area is based on tourism and services, mainly. A survey was conducted to know the public perception about the management of municipal solid waste, and respondents stated that if they were not given adequate management, it would be reflected in the short term in decreasing the number of visitors. This perception was differentiated, and the community made proposals to improve the integral management of waste. |
