Within the family circle comes a degradation that leads to discrimination and differential treatment, manifested by shouting, pushing or words that affect him emotionally. Therefore, family functionality is an important factor to evaluate, understood as a systematic relational dynamic that occurs through: cohesion, harmony, roles, communication, permeability, affectivity and adaptability.El maltrato al adulto mayor es la acción única o repetida, o la falta de respuesta apropiada, que ocurre dentro de cualquier relación donde exista una expectativa de confianza y la cual produzca daño o angustia a un adulto mayor. Dentro del círculo familiar llega a una degradación que lo conduce a una discriminación y a un trato diferenciado, manifestándose con gritos, empujones o palabras que lo afectan emocionalmente.
