Resumo:There is an open debate on different fronts of theorization in psychology and social sciences that lies in the effects of dualistic approaches in the production and application of knowledge. We present arguments in favor of an integrative approach such as the cultural-historical tradition. We hold that an alternative to dualisms is the monistic perspective proposed in the cultural-historical tradition, specifically in its roots in Spinoza’s philosophy. We present the term perezhivanie as a concept that leads to a monistic approach of the mind-body problem.
