In recent years, especially the private sector has been increasingly incorporated into international development policy, and actors such as the EU increasingly recognise the key role of the private sector in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). The objective of this paper is to review the concept of the IDC and the incorporation of the private sector into the IDC. First, a literature review on the two concepts mentioned above is carried out, and then the case of the EU's efforts to incorporate the private sector is analysed. All this helps to identify the different forms of private sector involvement in the CID, to review the EU strategy in that context and to show the results obtained.A lo largo del tiempo el concepto y el paradigma de la Cooperación Internacional al Desarrollo (CID) ha evolucionado mucho y así también los actores involucrados. En los últimos años especialmente el sector privado se ha incorporado cada vez más en la política del desarrollo internacional y actores como la UE reconocen cada vez más el papel clave del sector privado en la consecución de los ODS. El objetivo del presente trabajo es revisar el concepto de la CID y la incorporación del sector privado en la CID. Primero se realiza una revisión de literatura sobre los dos conceptos mencionados para después analizar el caso de los esfuerzos de la UE para la incorporación del sector privado.
