The construction of counter-hegemony is possible through the translation operation proposed by Santos, that assumes the identification and increase of which this author denominates the contact zones. Santos’ counter-hegemony proposal may be enhanced applying Laclau’s theory in order to reflect in a more consistent way the political-epistemic articulation work, that is not just translation but the construction of a democratic and agonistic hegemony, following Chantal Mouffe that inevitably entrails the production of historical-concrete universals.En este trabajo se sostiene que para que la descolonización se convierta en una práctica social históricamente emancipadora, debe articularse con la construcción de una contrahegemonía que parta del reconocimiento de la inextinguible pluralidad sociocultural y de la ineluctabilidad de la diferencia y el conflicto políticos y que, por tanto, reconozca la imposibilidad de construir órdenes universales plenos y abstractos. La construcción de una contrahegemonía es posible a través de la operación de traducción propuesta por Santos, que supone la detección y acrecentamiento de lo que este autor denomina las zonas de contacto. Propongo además que la noción de contrahegemonía propuesta por Santos puede ser potenciada empleando la teoría de Laclau, para pensar de una forma más consistente el trabajo epistémico-político de articulación, que no es sólo de traducción, sino de construcción de una hegemonía democrática y radical, siguiendo a Chantal Mouffe, que entraña ineludiblemente la producción de universales histórico-concretos.Noesis.
