In this study, the relationship of prevalence of overweight and obesity with biochemical parameters in university students of Chontalpa was determined. The data were from university students (N = 4775) aged 18 to 23 years in 2015, 2016 and 2017. The overall prevalence of overweight and obesity over the three years was 43.5%, (men= 45.8% and women= 39.2%) with a notable increase in 2017 (men= 48.9%, women= 44%) compared to 2015 (men = 45%, women = 37%) and 2016 (men = 43.8%, women = 37.1%). Metabolic risk factors were found in young people and with it the risk of Chronic Noncommunicable Diseases.
