Descripción
Sumario:The abnormal or excessive accumulation of fat triggers overweight or obesity, an alarming public health situation that affects a large part of the world's population. In this study, the relationship of prevalence of overweight and obesity with biochemical parameters in university students of Chontalpa was determined. The data were from university students (N = 4775) aged 18 to 23 years in 2015, 2016 and 2017. The overall prevalence of overweight and obesity over the three years was 43.5%, (men= 45.8% and women= 39.2%) with a notable increase in 2017 (men= 48.9%, women= 44%) compared to 2015 (men = 45%, women = 37%) and 2016 (men = 43.8%, women = 37.1%). Metabolic risk factors were found in young people and with it the risk of Chronic Noncommunicable Diseases.
