Physicochemical analysisto determine the soils properties were done and the concentration as well as the identification of polycyclicaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) was camed out by means of gas chromatography with high resoliitioncapillary columns. The highest individual values for PAHs correspond to pyrene, crysene andbenzo(a)pyrene. This implies a risk for human health due to their carcinogenic propedes.En este trabajo se analizó el primer horizonte edafogénico de 11 estaciones ubicadas en las márgenes de los ríos Bitzal y Usumacinta, que atraviesan la reserva de la biosfera de los "Pantanos de Centla" en Tabasco. Se hicieron los análisis físicoquímicos para la caracterización del suelo y se determinó la concentración de hidrocarburos aromáticos policíclicos (HAPs) por medio de cromatografía de gases con columnas capilares de alta resolución.
