Descrição
Resumo:Human papillomavirus (HPV) or papillomavirus is part of the family of papovaviruses, being a virus that has a single molecule of double-stranded DNA protected by the capsid. The literature reports that there are more than 80 subtypes of HPV identified by histopathological studies, the form of infection is mainly due to sexual relations, mother and child vertical transmission and contact with the lesion being the incubation period of 3 to 12 weeks. Viral warts or verruca vulgaris are childhood injuries produced by human papillomavirus 2, 4, and 6. Oral lesions are relatively rare and usually caused by autoinoculation from finger and hand injuries. A case of vulgar verruca buccal is reported in an 8-year-old girl; the patient in a first revision showed lesion in hands and fingers, stopped attending the consultation and when she returned she presented a papillomatous lesion in the oral cavity, located at the level of the O.D. 83 Y42. The literature refers to multiple treatments, in this case we chose to perform the excisional biopsy with the conventional scalpel. The patient was referred to the dermatologist and both lesions were treated with imioquimod ointment, obtaining good results.
