Descripción
Sumario:The main objective of this article is to analyze the series of developments, events and contingencies that gave rise to the creation of Telesecundarias (televised secondary education) in Mexico. We present a qualitative and documentary work using Foucault’s genealogy as an analytical tool based on the notions of emergence and origin, to account for the current state and development of said educational modality in the period between 1968 and 2021. It was found that, through the years, the Telesecundaria, has become an extremely important educational modality within the national educational system, since it serves a significant percentage of students from the social sectors that present the most deficiencies and do not have access to learning in other schools, mainly due to lack of resources.
