| Resumo: | The present research aims to describe some aspects of the discrimination suffered by lesbians and its relationship with subjective well-being and human development. It is a descriptive and field study (Kerlinger and Lee, 2002), the snowball technique was used (Mendieta, 2015). The interview (Kvale, 2011) was carried out on three women belonging to the Lesbian collective. The results showed that the same society (family, school, work, friends, etc.) is the cause of discrimination. The interviewees do not feel support from society. The finding that in the XXI century discrimination is still alive is unprecedented, the lesbian feels discriminated against, and above all, prejudice continues to be nurtured. Likewise, the lesbian feels discriminated against in the medical consultation; in unison, there was discrimination in streets, parks, restaurants and public servants' offices; Furthermore, she was reproached for her attendance at Mass, at the Catholic Church. Social constructionism was of capital importance in linking the empirical facts with some of its guidelines, and thus, reinforcing —through the aforementioned technique— the research corpus. In conclusion, talking about subjective well-being and human development in this context is a complicated challenge, since, precisely, discrimination limits the continuous process of both elements. |
