Sumario:The aim of this paper is to describe the rise of Japanese comics (manga), in Japan and Mexico, as well other publications related to the same topic, ie fanzines and magazines specializing in this type of comic.This study is the result of research and documentary investigates the history of manga at the Japanese archipelago from the eleventh century to the Edo period (1600-1867), setting the year 1902 as the debut of Japanese cartoon.Moreover, this article tells in detail how in the last decade of the twentieth century in Mexico appears the first manga titles available to the consuming public, as well as, fanzines and other related journals oriental comics.
