Sumario:The emergence of manga in Spain at the beginning of the nineties marked a break in the reading habits of comic book fans in this country. However, this meant not only an expansion of the market and the number of titles published, but the introduction of an aesthetic linked to those of Japanese comics. We can not understand the absorption of forms and themes of Spanish manga without knowing what was the reception process of the original works coming from the land of the rising sun in Spain. This chapter provides a historical overview of the arrival of manga and editorial explosion that led to the emergence of new authors and titles, a parallel chronology of national authors creations that follow the guidelines of the Japanese publications in order to show how the original texts definitively influence the evolution of the Spanish manga will be established.
