| Resumo: | According to the National Development Plan (2007-2012) deaths due to noncommunicable diseases, the ailments associated with a long life - such as diabetes and hypertension -, as well as injuries caused by accidents or violence, today represent 85% of all the deaths that are registered in Mexico. These conditions are complex and costly. The IMSS and the ISSSTE, on the other hand, point out that an important part of the treatment of these diseases lies in keeping a low diet in sugars, fats and carbohydrates. |
