Resumo:This work analyzes the use of interpretative declarations and the challenges they currently present, with special interest in the situation framed by articles 287, 298, 309 and 310 of the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, taking into account a recent but not less controversial case: the dispute between the Philippines and China in the area of the South China Sea.
