This study provides a greater understanding of the causes and development of banking crises in Mexico and other Latina American countries.Las crisis bancarias en Estados Unidos han resultado muy contagiosas para los países en vías de desarrollo, sobre todo para América Latina. Es importante notar cómo los problemas internos de Estados Unidos por motivos especulativos, o de mala administración, o como parte del ciclo económico financiero, repercuten en otros países. Estos efectos que en un momento fueron solamente de bienes han ido cambiando hacia el sector financiero.
