Descripción
Sumario:The book: "Plate Tectonics - How it works" presents in a clear and attractive style several of the topics that have been considered as a revolution in Earth Sciences. In the preface it is said that the book is aimed at those who, after reading some popular description of plate tectonics, wish to know something more. This is a modest way to start reading a book that actually concentrates on the quantitative aspects of plate tectonics. These are presented concisely, with multiple examples and exercises, and above all in a very entertaining way. A part of the book is devoted to paleomagnetic studies, to which Allan V. Cox contributed during his productive academic life, recently cut short on January 27, 1987.
