| Sumario: | Type 2 diabetes has become the main problem in Mexican health and it is the first cause of morbi-mortality in México. Obesity and Type 2 diabetes are characterized by inflammatory state with high levels of C reactive protein (CRP), interleukin 6 (E-6), plasminogen inhibitor activator 1 (PAI-1) that promote micro and macro vascular complications. Glycine has anti-inflammatory properties, in immune cells it represses the mRNA of pro inflammatory cytokines interleukin (IL-6) and tumor nuclear factor alpha (TNF-a) and stimulates anti inflammatory interleukin 10 (IL-1 O). In this study, the effect of glycine in the mRNA expression of inflammatory adipocytokines resistin, IL-6 and anti-inflammatory adiponectin and also the protective effect were evaluated. Izl vitro experiments were performed in 3T3-Ll cell line differentiated to adipocytes under chronic glycine (10 mM) exposure and in an insulin resistance model with or without glycine (IOmM) and for in vivo experiments streptozotocin treated CD-1 mice with a daily oral dose of glycine were included. In acute treatment, glycine repressed IL-6 mRNA 30% and after chronic treatment this amino acid showed a tendency to decrease resistin and adiponectin mRNA expression. Therefore this research suggests that glycine has anti-inflammatory effects in adipocytes. |
