| Sumario: | The current style life has caused food are packaged, causing packaging wastes. One of them is the high density polyethylene (HDPE). Moreover, the production of cereals, generate waste, one of them is straw. In order to give an alternative to disposal of this waste, evaluation of materials for use in building materials is suggested, using straw as reinforcing and HDPE as matrix. Tests for straw and HDPE were; Thermogravimetry (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). By TGA lower initial temperatures of degradation were obtained at 200°C for straw and above 250°C for HDPE. The HDPE DSC showed melting point at 140 °C. By the DSC and TGA it was established temperature for the manufacture of building materials, which range from 150-190 °C, thereby a good interaction between the studied raw materials was ensured. In micrographs of HDPE were observed some crosslinking in its polymeric chains, characteristic of reuse materials. |
