Descripción
Sumario:Based on unpublished documentary sources from Spanish archives and Mexico's Archivo General de la Naciòn, this work centers on the Rodríguez de Figueroa family between 1574 (date of the first registered entry of one of its members into the New World) and 1670 /sentence in the trial for the rights over the mayorazgo created by Álvaro Rodríguez de Figueroa). The author follows the personal trajectories of the family's most distinguished members during this period, examining how they established kin and social networks in the New World, as well as their importance for the conquest and organization of Spanish society in the Philippines.
