| Sumario: | Cruise ship tourism has been a segment of wealth and growth in island areas. Its presence has studied the impacts and how it has damage the environment. This type of tourism has inside on sociocultural environment and the local economy. The main objective of this academic work is to determine, through post-hoc statistical differences, whether it has left any economic benefits or has misled the host population, on its social, economic and environmental impact. The methodology consists of a quantitative-correlational non-probabilistic design, applying questionnaires in a stratified random manner to 338 locals in Cozumel, Quintana Roo. The results indicate significant differences between sociocultural and economic variable factors. It is important to point out the lack or bit of reaction by the population towards environmental damage. This in itself constitutes a reason to continue research on the matter. |
