Sumario:This paper shows the results of an analysis of 38 research articles from the main Computer Science publishers, to compare the sequential pattern mining methods they used,  additionally, a computerized adaptive testing system (CAT) based on sequential association rules is proposed. Previously, a CAT system integrating association rules as an item selection method was proposed. In this case, the system will provide the students with items that correspond to their level of knowledge through the answers that they enter the test, in addition to the correct answers of other students in the same test based on sequential association rules with greater support. The technologies proposed for the development of the system are Java, and the integrated development environment NetBeans, along with the JavaServer Faces framework, the MySQL database management system, following the UML-based web engineering methodology (UWE for its acronym in English).
