| Sumario: | Most countries in the world accumulate foreign exchange reserves as a way to protect and address the speculative contingencies in the international economy. Mexico currently ranks 15 on the list of nations accumulation of foreign exchange reserves. At the level of Latin America, our country ranks ,second only behind Brazil which has just over 352 thousand 012 million dollars. However, the reserves of our country are far from the amount currently have China, which amounts up to 3.3 billion dollars. For federal Government officials, having high international reserves is a reflec-tion of good economic management and it is a symbol of Mexico’s economic strength. Given this we can say that international reserves give confidence to the foreign inves-tors, but the nature of the accumulation of reserves in the country does not necessarily mean that we have a healthy or already overcome the financial crisis of 2009 economy. |
