Descripción
Sumario:The value that teachers give to their beliefs, determines the meaning that education has for him/ her. In the educational field, beliefs determine the action as well as the way in which the teacher performs his/her profession; this has an impact in the teaching – learning process. The objective of the current research is to identify the beliefs, purposes and actions in the teaching process considering a sample of 63 teachers from the Autonomous University of Zacatecas. The collected information through the Learning Perspectives Inventory (LPI) shows there are not statistically significant differences between the scores of the evaluated areas: beliefs, purposes and actions, that is why it was determined that teachers are reflective and coherent with their teacher performing, worried about their students and their emotions in contrast with the idea of previous years that considered the university teacher as a specialist of his/ her subject being this the only condition of being a teacher.
