Su fructífero trabajo la ha llevado a ocupar espacios en importantes organismos académicos, a recibir varios premios y a pertenecer a los consejos editoriales de revistas nacionales e internacionales. Sostiene que las humanidades son un aspecto esencial de la cultura, y debe combatirse su marginación actual, creando conciencia y fomentando la lectura de todo tipo, incluso de las ciencias. El sentido crítico se adquiere en gran parte con la lectura, y ésa es una de las labores esenciales de los maestros. La poesía es parte indispensable en este proceso. El CCH es el sitio mejor para llevar a cabo lo anterior.
