Sumario:Faced with the problem represented by the sum of urban detritus and obsolescent spaces resulting from the modernization process throughout the last century, this article presents research focusing on the city of Valparaíso (Chile), the main objective being to address the aforementioned environmental situation through an alternative assessment of this type of abandoned space, thereby contributing to their habitability from a perspective aligned with the idea of decrease: making these spaces visible; generating an expanded perception of each site by recording the ephemeral, the variable, and the different time periods exhibited by each site; living them as a signiftcant experience in their condition as material vestiges.
