| Sumario: | This paper, of an exploratory nature, proposes to detect variables that can characterize the problem of technical obsolescence, based on the perceptions of researchers and research managers, identifying how the phenomenon is experienced, its indicators, causes and main repercussions. The research was carried out on a sample of 178 researchers and 140 managers of a Brazilian agricultural research organization. Besides expressing of representations, feelings and emotions associated with the phenomenon, theresults converged to the perception of the existence of technical obsolescence in the organization, with this having been characterized by four large categories: availability and adequacy of human resources; organizational results; management; availability and adequacy of financiaI and material resources. The investigation brought subsidies for the construction of models to characterize technical obsolescence of researchers in research and development organizations. |
