Those taxes were closely related to the tax sovereignty of the states, revealing that the conflicts between the federal and state governments during this period were much stronger and more complex than we usually think. Este trabajo es un acercamiento a un componente poco considerado de la vida económica y política de México del siglo XX, a saber, las alcabalas o gravámenes que interferían con la libre circulación de mercancías y la consolidación del mercado nacional.
