| Sumario: | [EN] Although documentary references to the Jews of Tudela are not very numerous, barely some 60 documents, they are significant enough to confirm the existence of a community that paid the service and half-service taxes; that shared space with Christians throughout the urban area; that some of its inhabitants were engaged in crafts; that it included Jews not originally from Galicia who were involved in the collection of royal taxes; and that there was a synagogue and a Jewish cemetery in Tui. As an extraordinary detail within the broader context of Galician Jews, it also allows us to affirm that at least two of its inhabitants chose to leave Tui when the Catholic Monarchs ordered, in 1492, the expulsion of all Jews from their kingdoms. [ES] Aunque las referencias documentales sobre los judíos tudenses no son muy numerosas, apenas unos 60 documentos, son lo suficientemente significativas como para confirmar la existencia de una comunidad que tributó al servicio y medio servicio; que compartió espacio con los cristianos por todo el perímetro urbano; que algunos de sus habitantes ejercieron actividades artesanales; que contó con la presencia de judíos no originarios de Galicia relacionados con la recaudación de tributos reales; y que en Tui existió una sinagoga y un cementerio judío. Como dato extraordinario dentro del panorama de los judíos gallegos, también permite afirmar que, al menos dos de sus habitantes optaron por abandonar Tui cuando los Reyes Católicos ordenaron, en 1492, la salida de todos los judíos de sus reinos. |
