Through a critical review of canonical texts (such as those by Cage and Umberto Eco) and an analysis of representative works, the article explores the resonances of these notions in Eastern cultural traditions and their connection with the Open Work. Additionally, it examines how technological advancements have facilitated the emergence of autonomous systems that enable shared authorship, linking these approaches with generativity. These resources can be seen as a shift from the creator s traditional role as a genius who controls all aspects of the work, towards one who delegates decisions to human agents or systems of various types (such as machinic ones), who complete a portion ceded by the initial author. Together, these parts shape the final aesthetic experience for the observer or participant.[ES] Este artículo examina ideas sobre la indeterminación en la producción artística desde mediados del siglo XX, partiendo de las reflexiones de John Cage en el campo musical. El objetivo principal es trazar correspondencias interdisciplinares entre la música, la filosofía y las artes visuales, rastreando antecedentes históricos de la autoría compartida en el arte contemporáneo. A través de una revisión crítica de textos canónicos (como los de Cage y Umberto Eco) y un análisis de obras representativas, se exploran las resonancias de estas nociones en las tradiciones culturales orientales y su conexión con la Obra Abierta . Además, se examina cómo los avances tecnológicos han facilitado la aparición de sistemas autónomos, capaces de tomar decisiones dentro de un marco definido por el creador. Estos sistemas amplían las posibilidades de la autoría compartida, ya que participan activamente en la producción de la obra. Estos recursos pueden leerse como un desplazamiento del creador desde el rol tradicional de genio que controla todos los aspectos de la obra, hacia uno que delega decisiones a agentes humanos o a sistemas de diferentes tipos (como, por ejemplo, maquínicos), quienes completan una parte cedida por el autor inicial.
