| Sumario: | Meridional sections (80ºN-80°S) of SeaWiFS chlorophyll concentration have been used to describe the seasonalities of the major phytoplankton environments in the Atlantic ocean. The analysis emphasizes the hemispheric seasonal shift, the equatorial displacement of phytoplankton concentration, the phytoplankton blooms of temperature and high latitudes and the eastern boundary upwellings. The last two environments show the highest concentration of phytoplakton in the central ocean (15-45°W). |
