| Resumo: | The limitations of traditional resume-based employability assessment methods have fuelled research into more dynamic approaches. This paper suggests a conceptual framework for initiating the exploration of social media for soft skills recognition (SMSR), a novel approach that leverages social media data to assess skills. SMSR offers advantages over traditional methods by capturing authentic, diverse, timely, and contextual data that reflects an individual's soft skills based on their social media behaviours. By analysing online interactions, content creation, and social network engagement, SMSR has the potential to reveal a wider range of soft skills, including communication, teamwork, and creative abilities. SMSR holds promise for revolutionising the job search process for employers and job seekers, streamlining recruitment and offering a more democratic approach to skills recognition |
